In addition to the performance, at the risk of repeating something you may already know well, I would　like to include some text from the Bible. These words were performed by preachers[1] to exhort listeners　to take the cross in wars against 'infidels' and 'heretics'to become crusaders.

かつて説教師 [2]は、(彼の言葉を聞く者たちに) 不信心者と異端者たちに対して十字軍の兵士となるように勧告した。
十字架の下で戦争をさせるために、以下の言葉を使って、パフォーマンスを行っていた。


I saw an angel rising from the sunrise carrying the sign of the living God,　and he called in a powerful　voice to the four angels whose duty was to　devastate land and sea: Do not devastate the land and sea　nor the trees,　until we have signed the servants of our God on their foreheads.
(The Bible, St. John’s Revelation - Apocalypse vii, 2-3)

わたしはまた、もう一人の天使が生ける神のみしるしを持って、太陽の出る方角から上って来るのを見た。この天使は、大地と海とを破壊することを許されている四人の天使に、大声で呼びかけて、こう言った。「我々が、神のしもべたちの額にしるしを刻みつけてしまうまでは、大地も海も木も破壊してはならない。」（ヨハネの黙示録、七、ニ〜三）


For Zion's sake I will not be silent, for Jerusalem's sake I shall not rest,　until her right shines　forth like a bright light and her salvation is lit like a lamp. (Isaiah, lxii, 1)

Throughout history much time has been spent searching for what will make one body join other bodies. War　propaganda manipulates the values each society regards as important enough to justify and support war.While in religious societies the preacher continues to identify threat, predict chaos, and promise　reward for sacrifice, in so called 'secular societies' this role spreads into many areas: politics,　media, bureaucracy, academia, corporations.Whoever ultimately places the image between trigger (hunter-soldier) and target (animal-enemy), nobody can remain outside this system.

歴史を通じて、一つの身体が群れをなす身体に加わることを求めて、多くの時間が費やされてきた。戦争のプロパガンダは、戦争を指示し、正当化するに足ると各々の社会が考える価値を操作する。非世俗的な社会では、説教師が脅威を選別し、無秩序を予言し、犠牲に対する、報酬を約束し続けてきた一方で、いわゆる「世俗的社会」では、この役割は、政治、メディア、官僚制度、アカデミズム、企業家に分散される。最終的に誰もが、引き金(狩人ー兵士)と標的(動物ー敵)の間にイメージを位置づけるが、このシステムの外部にとどまり得る身体などありはしない。
